On October 2, Badass Animal Rescue will host its annual Art of the Rescue gala in Brooklyn – and for me, it marks a new chapter. This is my first year volunteering with Badass, and I couldn’t be more excited to roll up my sleeves not just for the gala, but to help Badass grow, save more dogs and make an even bigger impact. To add to that excitement, my company, Forefront Communications, is stepping up as a sponsor.
I’ve been at Forefront for nearly seven years and during that time I’ve watched us grow in size, client impact and reputation. But what has always stood out to me most is how much Forefront values the passions of its people. For me, one of those passions has always been animal rescue.
I adopted my dog, Luna, in 2017 and to be the corny #dogmom I am, she has changed my life. From then on, I wanted to do more to make this world a safer, better place for all animals – whether it be my yearly embroidery fundraiser, spamming social media with photos of dogs who need saving or, more recently, joining Badass on the development committee. Badass isn’t just a rescue; it’s a community of people who believe every dog deserves a second chance. Seeing the transformation of these dogs from scared and vulnerable to safe and loved is something that never gets old (and will never not make me cry).
So when Forefront decided to sponsor this year’s gala, it meant more to me than just a corporate logo on a banner. It was confirmation that the company I’ve poured most of my career into also cares about the things that matter most to me outside of work. That’s what Forefront’s corporate social responsibility (CSR) program is all about – finding ways to give back that are connected to the people who make up our team.
At Forefront, CSR isn’t a box we check or a trend we chase. It’s about supporting causes that reflect who we are as individuals. For some team members, that might be the environment or financial literacy. For me, it’s about animal welfare, and knowing that Forefront recognizes and amplifies that feels incredibly meaningful. It’s one of the many reasons I’m proud to call this company home after so many years.
The October 2 gala will be a night to celebrate the lifesaving work Badass has done, raise funds for the future and connect with a community of people who care as deeply about dogs as I do.
I often think about how lucky I am to work for a company that not only delivers for its clients but also values the passions and interests of its people. Forefront’s support of Badass Animal Rescue is more than just sponsorship – it’s proof that when a company aligns its culture with the values of its team, everyone wins.
Here’s to Badass, to Forefront and to all the dogs whose lives are changed because of this incredible work.
