Newark Star Ledger: Whole Foods Price Cuts Have Cost Walmart, Trader Joe’s Big Time, Study Finds

Whole Foods has seen a steady stream of increased foot traffic, a good chunk of which are Walmart customers, in the month since being acquired by Amazon and slashing prices on many items, according to a data intelligence firm.

That’s the conclusion of Thasos Group, a data intelligence firm that studied the impact of the price reduction.

Nearly a quarter of the new customers (24 percent) were regular Walmart customers, with 16 percent coming from Krogers and another 15 percent from Costco, according to Thasos Group, which studied the impact of the price reduction.
