Mifid II regulations have become synonymous with ‘challenges managers are scrambling to meet’ – the two phrases are almost interchangeable. But one business’ challenge is another’s opportunity, and nowhere is this more evident than the radical changes research unbundling is imposing on both buy-side and sell-side firms. In the brave new unbundled world, technology vendors offering tools and platforms to manage the hitherto superfluous processes of monitoring research consumption and measuring value are the clear winners.
